I hold a Master’s degree in English, with an emphasis on Literature and Cultural Studies. I’m a lover of a story––whether I’m crafting them, reading them, or coaching clients on writing their own. My thesis––Stories that Heal: Building Cross-Cultural Bridges Through Literature––explores the importance of the counter-narrative as a way to discover commonalities between cultures, while honoring our differences. In addition to my academic teaching experience at the university level, I am a veteran of the publishing industry, having held roles on both sides of the editorial desk in magazine and book publishing.
While I am most passionate tutoring English, Writing, and Critical Reading––and have taught them in a multicultural environment––I am a lifelong lover of the study of Psychology and enjoy exploring the world through History, Geography, and Cultural Studies. I am equally passionate about creating an environment where my clients come to embrace learning as an adventure.
A Master RIM facilitator, trained in a mind/body technique that dissolves self-sabotaging beliefs, I am a member of Jack Canfield’s assisting team, having completed his Train the Trainer program on The Success Principles in 2011. I enjoy fly fishing, yoga, hiking, walks on the beach, traveling around the world, good movies, and good food.
