I graduated from California State University East Bay with a Bachelor of Science in Biology (with a focus on Ecology and Conservation) and a Bachelor of Arts in French, which included a one-year language and culture study experience in Aix-en-Provence, France. I have had the opportunity to tutor students in French, Spanish, and Math from a wide range of ages and learning styles, including university students with disabilities. My favorite part about tutoring are the "Oh, I get it!" moments after a student struggles, making the effort worthwhile. I believe each student has potential to grow. The role of an effective tutor is to believe in the student, have patience and awareness to better understand their struggles, and form a strategy to help the student in the best way possible based on their learning style and personality. In my down time, I enjoy reading for personal growth, jamming out with friends and family on vocals, violin, or guitar, and learning the Nahuatl language.
