I'm a graduate student at Loyola Marymount University currently working toward my masters in Urban Education with an emphasis in Literacy. I also received my undergrad degree in English and Theater from LMU. Language Arts has always been my favorite subject in school. I love to read and write. It wasn't until undergrad that I realized that History was also a favorite of mine. I love learning the stories of different cultures. I have experience teaching ninth and tenth grade English, test preparation, writing, grammar, study skills, math, and dance. I think reading is the most important tool anyone can have and it breaks my heart when I hear students and adults say that they, “Hate to read!" My response is that these students and adults just haven't found what they like to read, yet. I hope to be that person to turn you on to your favorite type of reading.
In my free time, I like to read. I am currently reading Cassandra Clare's Infernal Devices series. My favorite type of reading is fantasy, classical literature, graphic novels and plays. I also like to watch movies, take dance classes, eat, produce plays and write my own short stories and poetry.
