I just graduated from Hofstra University with my B.S. in Biology (magna cum laude) and high honors. I'll be applying to medical school very soon (wish me luck!). I love the sciences and they have always come pretty naturally to me. I did research in the Microbiology lab with a great thesis advisor who was one of my favorite teachers and a large influence on my desire to do some teaching myself. I have experience as a teaching assistant and a lot of one-on-one work with struggling classmates that always were satisfied with my help.
Biology is my strongest subject, but I also have a minor in Chemistry and aced my Physics courses. Standardized tests have always been a strong point of mine also. I know how to approach problems from different perspectives and I can change my style to match my students very easily. Not everyone learns the same way, and I'm not afraid to admit that my first methods might be wrong for a student. The moment that the information I'm teaching clicks in a student's head is a proud one, and it's hard to match that satisfaction. That's what drives me to be a great teacher.
New York is my favorite place in the world and I'd love to live here the rest of my life. In my free time you'll find me playing guitar or attempting to teach myself a new instrument - I'm up to 5!
I can promise that I will give my very best efforts to teach you what I can. Thanks for taking the time to get to know a little about me!
