Hello, prospective students!
I am Mike, a laid-back guy who enjoys helping people reach their potential in life.
A few details about my life are I grew up in Windham, NH, a small town in Southern New Hampshire, but I have been a Boston resident the past 7 years. I found a passion for Chemistry and Biological Sciences in high school thanks to great teaching, and it inspired me to pursue a career in that field. From 2006 to 2011 I attended Northeastern University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry.
I enjoyed working 3 years in the pharmaceutical industry performing research on new drugs, but I have always looked for opportunities involving more human interaction. Becoming a Varsity Tutor was a giant step in that direction, and I look forward to working with young, motivated students who seek academic help and career advice. Inspiring individuals directly is extremely rewarding, and I believe my ability to communicate on all levels will ensure that. I will make learning fun and easy for students who need help with confusing subjects.
Outside of academics, I enjoy all sports. I play basketball, soccer, tennis, golf, baseball, men's softball, volleyball, etc. You name it, I play it! I root for the Patriots, Celtics, Red Sox and Bruins. I also enjoy exercise that includes weight lifting, running, rollerblading, swimming and long boarding. I enjoy relaxing outside on the beach or inside playing videogames and watching TV. I enjoy cooking, whether it is on my own, or following complex recipes that resemble a laboratory protocol. I also enjoy touring other cities and traveling.
I hope to help students by passing down the great teaching methods used on me throughout my years of learning. I am excited for this opportunity and am looking forward to getting started.
