I am a graduate of the University of California, Santa Cruz, and have a BA in English Literature. I currently live in Valley Village, CA, and was born and raised in Southern California, attending Providence High School in Burbank before leaving for Santa Cruz. I have a love for reading, writing, and the power of the English language, and work to share and instill that same passion within my students. I particularly enjoy helping to fuel a student's own desire and thirst for learning, as well as working to build and strenghten their own confidence and capabilities. While English (essay writing, literature, grammar, theory and rhetoric) is my greatest strength, I have a long history of tutoring various subjects, both on a private basis, with junior and high school students, as well as through the state K-12 school districts, and the No Child Left Behind Act. I have also worked as a substitute teacher during that time. I have a strong interest and background in US and World History, and also have experience with Standardized Test Preparation. Currently I am working on obtaining my Masters Degree in English, along with my teaching credentials, and continuing my career in academics. When my head is not firmly planted between the pages of a (hopefully) good book, I can be found with my family and friends, enjoying a movie, or good food, or watching a game, or going for a hike, and, whenever possible, traveling and discovering new places.
