I am a student enrolled in the Earth Sciences Ph.D. program at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, CA. I received my B.S. in Geology from Cedarville University in Cedarville, OH. Although I currently live in California, I grew up on the East Coast both in Covington, VA and Pottersville, NY. I plan on becoming a vertebrate paleontologist, and my dissertation research is on dinosaur fossils from Eastern Wyoming. Teaching is one of my biggest passions, and I enjoy tutoring and instructing people of all ages. My favorite subjects are Geology, Biology, World History, Writing, and Literature. I have tutored in those subjects as well as in U.S. History, Chemistry, English, and Math (up to Geometry, Algebra, and Caculus I). I also taught a Mineralogy course at Loma Linda University in the winter of 2013. When teaching, my objective is to help students understand the big picture, which gives them a framework that they can fill with details and a way to associate seemingly unrelated concepts. In my spare time, I enjoy fossil collecting, reading, writing, making movies, and spending time in nature. My wife and I are expecting our first child in April.
