I believe that the most important part of being a good tutor is understanding that each student learns at a different rate. As a personal tutor, it is my responsibility to understand the importance of maintaining that rate to keep the student engaged and confident in the learning process. Through experience, I have developed several different ways of teaching the material and ensuring that the student has a strong grasp of the material.
I am a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara. I received a B.S. in physics, with an emphasis in material science. I have lived in the San Fernando Valley for the past 21 years, and am very familiar with the area. I have been tutoring classmates and friends in math and physics since 2005, and I have been a professional tutor for the past six years. My areas of expertise are high school and early college math, chemistry, and physics, including AP test prep; however, I am also comfortable teaching lower level arithmetic.
