I'm a CSULB graduate with a B.A. in history. I started my education at SFSU and truly loved the experience. As I've trained in empowerment courses and child psychology courses, I always make sure to work from a place that increases a student's confidence while making it fun for them to learn.
I love tutoring Language Arts, History, K-9 math, Intermediate French, Psychology, and Geology. My clients have ranged from 1st grade students through 12th grade. I previously worked with AACE Upward Bound where I tutored first generation, lower income students. We also held SAT Prep courses for our juniors on the weekends.
During my first session with a student, I always make sure we take time to know and trust each other. I learn a student's interests and learning style so I can work with the student on his/her level. By meeting a student where s/he needs to be met, learning is more fun and the student starts to trust himself/herself more.
When I'm not tutoring, I love going to shows, reading plays, attending plays, going to art galleries, hiking, watching films, and writing.

What is your teaching philosophy?
We learn together. True teaching works in a circle, not a linear line.
