I am a recent graduate of Columbia University where I studied History and Mathematics. Prior to moving to San Diego, I lived in and around New York City. While my diverse background has led me to teach many subjects, I primarily tutor math and science. I have several years of experience working with students of all ages, ranging in ability from those in danger of falling behind to those attempting to get ahead. My goal with any student is not only to ensure that they understand enough material to pass their exams, but to help them become masters of the fundamentals behind their subject. This guarantees they will have the necessary skills to bring into new classes and subsequent grades long after they have completed a single subject.
If you are a good student looking to gain an edge, I can help you see past individual problems in order to understand the core essence of your subject. If you are a struggling student, I can quickly diagnose where the gaps in your previous education are and help you catch up with your peers by reinforcing basics you may have missed out on. With this methodology, I hope to help you improve in any subject from basic English grammar to Physics.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy hiking and biking. I am also a prolific reader and an avid cook.
