I attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, where I graduated in Spring 2011 with a Bachelor's of Science in Environmental Studies. I'm a Southern California native, having grown up in Monterey Park and Irvine, CA.
While a student at UCSB, I became deeply involved with life on campus and developed a love of teaching, mentoring, and inspiring other students to use their skills to improve the campus community. I developed and taught an environmental education curriculum for third graders at a local elementary school, and won awards for sustainability communication projects, culminating in the Outstanding Service Award from the Environmental Studies program upon graduation. A lot of my peers(and all three of my younger siblings!) have come to me for help with test prep techniques, but I also really enjoy working with students in math and writing, helping them solve problems and clearly communicate complex ideas.
In addition to pursuing a career in the field of Urban Planning, I enjoy playing a multitude of styles on acoustic guitar as well as exploring new food and new places in the Orange County and Los Angeles area. I also love cooking, cycling, and getting cozy with a good book.
