I'm currently a third year student at Columbia Law School, where I am an honors student. Some background on me: I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, and I come from a Russian family. In high school, I was an All-State debater, and a member of the National Honor Society. I graduated with honors from the University of Chicago with degrees in Mathematics and Economics, and I plan to go into corporate law when I graduate from law school. My interests include movies, fashion, classic rock, reading and studying Japanese.
I love learning and I look forward to working with your student! I started tutoring at Kumon Learning Center while I was still in high school, and since then I have taught ACT preparation classes, served as a teaching assistant for freshman Calculus courses at the University of Chicago, and coached high school debate as a first year law student. I enjoy working with students, and I have a younger sister who is still in high school (and we're very close!), so I am eager to work with students of her age.
My specialties are English, Math (all levels up to and including Calculus), and test prep. I (think) that I am one of the few people who actually enjoys math, so I'd be happy to try to pass on my enthusiasm to your student. I'd also be happy to work with your student on reading and essay writing, as well as standardized test preparation.
I have a flexible schedule, and I am available most days of the week after school. I look forward to meeting your student!
