I'm a recent grad from the University of Pennsylvania and just moved to the Upper East Side; I am loving the many opportunities that NYC offers!
From high school through college and even in my current position as a scientific research associate, I have always been drawn to helping and mentoring my peers and colleagues. I love being able to connect with an individual and develop a beneficial relationship, and I wanted to make it official by becoming a tutor with Varsity Tutors!
When faced with a tough problem, I like to break it down piece by piece and make it as simple as possible. It's important to understand the WHY behind something, rather than just the HOW. Sometimes, it can help to relate a difficult concept to a real-life analogy, to draw a diagram, or to make up silly memory devices (King Philip Came Over For Good Spaghetti, anyone??). However, it will always take a lot of hard work, concentration, and practice. It might be a tough journey, but I promise to make it worth the while and a fun experience.
I bring more to the table than just having a solid educational background - my biggest strength is the investment that I will make in a student, to make sure that they succeed. I'll be there from start to finish, and I am versatile enough to offer services in a variety of subjects (including SAT and GRE prep). I am patient and easy-going, but I'll always shoot for that A+ or 1st place.
I'm so excited to meet you!
