I am currently a second year medical student at Stony Brook University School of Medicine. I graduated from the Honors Program at Adelphi University in 2011 with a BS in Biology.
I have tutored students enrolled in a variety of Biology and Chemistry classes for most of my time at Adelphi University and I enjoyed every minute of it. I've also helped students with essay writing and proofreading because of the rigorous reading and writing that was part of my curriculum in the Honors Program. It's hard to say which I enjoy more-- literature or science. I enjoy exploring methods of learning that work best with the student and really value their feedback on my tutoring style.
I like to be approachable during tutoring sessions so that the student can feel comfortable enough to bring up any questions he/she might have or interject if I am unclear. I don't like to lecture during tutoring sessions- I prefer sessions that are interactive and allow me to glean the student's understanding, preferences, and progress.
I enjoy tutoring because I love growing with the students and helping them find what they need to succeed in their classes. The most important part of every session to me is hearing the student's feedback on the session.
