Hi! I am currently working as a Kindergarten teacher in the Spring Branch ISD. I graduated from the University of Houston with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Chemistry but became a teacher because of how much I enjoy teaching kids.
I grew up being very involved in our church's nursery ministry and discovered my true passion to help kids learn and grow. Part of the reason I became a teacher is because of the gratification I receive from teaching. I truly enjoy watching my students learn and grow as the year progresses.
I consider myself to be an incredibly fun and enthusiastic teacher, but it is also very important for me to show my students the importance of discipline. I try to balance teaching my students boundaries with a lot of love and tenderness. Some of my students have come to even forget to call me by my name and instead call me "mom."
I think it is incredibly important to inspire students by showing them that learning can be interesting and a lot of fun!! I like to find creative ways to teach my students including methods that are interactive and engaging. I am very determined to do whatever it takes to help students grasp concepts and ideas including using games, rhymes, songs and projects.
I think the most important thing is to make sure young students are engaged and learning in a way that makes sense to them and keeps them interested. That is the passion and determination I convey with each of my students.
In my spare time, I love to run, spend time with my friends, enjoy good food, and spend time outdoors.
