I fell in love with learning Chinese back in college. I'm so glad I made the decision to start years ago because the value knowing this language has added to my life is immeasurable.
I studied Mandarin as an exchange student at Xiamen University in 2010 after having completed a Marine Science internship at the same institution the previous year. After graduating in 2011 I moved to Dalian in the Northeast where I spent 3 years before moving to Beijing. I was fortunate enough to be the only native English speaker at each of the jobs I held requiring me to communicate almost exclusively in Chinese.
Though many courses are designed to prepare students for the HSK, I specialize in equipping my students with language and cultural knowledge that will allow them to forge relationships with native Mandarin speakers on both a personal and professional level. I look forward to meeting you and crafting a course of study best suited to your learning needs!
