Tutoring review by Emily in Veradale, WA
Our entire tutoring session today focused on planning on strategy for which topics we want to cover during which tutoring sessions between now and the AP Calculus AB exam. For each future session, we planned which problem sets in her practice book we plan to go over, so we can go over the conceptual understanding of the concepts and go through more practice for those topics.

Tutoring review by Kori in Veradale, WA
We continued working ahead in the packet that the student received last week. Topics included: compound and half angle identities, expressing the sum of a sine and cosine as a sine function with a phase shift, and determining the equation of a sinusoid about a linear trend. He had forgotten how to determine the coefficients of sinusoidal functions, so we reviewed first semester topics such as midline, amplitude, and period.

Tutoring review by Alexandra in Veradale, WA
The student had 6 short (200-word) essays to write for her college supplemental application. As always, her rough drafts were quite eloquent, heartfelt, and professional, so I focused on ensuring that her writing was focused and as letter-perfect as possible. On the first draft I sent back to her, I focused on major edits (redundant phrasing, grammar) and wrote out my thoughts and suggestions for the next round of editing to be completed by her. Upon receiving her second edit, it was clear that she had given great thought to my suggestions and that these answers were indeed the best reflection of her character and devotion to the field. Most of the essays required only a few additional word choice changes and punctuation edits.

The student has an Intro to Psychology test on Friday, so we spent this session looking over the three chapters that will be covered on the test. I quizzed him on the definitions of the vocabulary words and asked him to differentiate between similar terms and concepts. We also discussed examples of the vocabulary terms and attempted to anticipate which questions and topics will be covered on the test. During our next session, we will take the practice tests in the textbook, review the answers, and look over any other material for which he may need additional review.
