Tutoring review by Phoebe in Valley, NE
Today, we reviewed the 20 vocabulary words that I had given the student. At first, she said she didn't know of them, but upon further examination, she was able to adequately define 14/20 and match 8/20 to their appropriate synonyms. We then worked through synonym and analogy practice problems together. She utilizes the process very effectively. I'm trying to help her see how she can figure out meanings of words using alternate methods - at least enough to get the right answer. She'll take a practice test this weekend.

Tutoring review by Brian in Valley, NE
The student had homework on the relationships between categories of numbers. He understands the definition of the different types of numbers. Ultimately, most of the problems were correct. He has been earning 90-100% in his class work. We finished by representing the trig concepts introduced last week in the context of the unit circle.

Tutoring review by Sunny in Valley, NE
We discussed a few previous homework problems. They were creative problems that really challenged the student's knowledge of vocabulary as well as visual thinking. She answered some correctly but needed more guidance on others. I believe she still needs to solidify her knowledge of vocabulary relating to Geometry. We then clarified the definitions of bisect and perpendicular. I advised that she should continue to hone her knowledge of these foundational concepts.

Tutoring review by Kyle in Valley, NE
The student went over a worksheet due tomorrow that he was having trouble understanding. He initially didn't understand how to do synthetic division, but he picked it up pretty quickly after a little work and was doing the subsequent problems himself. From that, we were able to cover the Remainder Theorem and determine how to find real zeros, both algebraically and with a calculator. We had a few minutes left at the end of the session, so I returned to one of his older worksheets to discuss how to calculate the domain and how composite functions work.
