Tutoring review by Lora in Quincy, WA
We started with a worksheet: the first side was writing numbers in expanded form to standard form, and they were accompanied by a little fact about the year they were representing. On the other side of the worksheet, he worked to reduce fractions in their simplest form - some of these problems were straight numbers, whereas some problems were word problems. Lastly, he had 4 word problems to complete, mainly dealing with fractions and percentages. He seems to do very well with the word problems. I notice he is getting very comfortable using his calculator, but will also do some problems by hand then check it with a calculator, which is good.

Tutoring review by Hsiao-harng in Quincy, WA
The student and I reviewed his math homework in this session. The homework covered finding areas of rectangles and using pre-algebra to do some word problems. He demonstrated his ability to apply Algebra to do the word problems, which I was happy to see. After finishing the homework, I tested his ability to arrange fractions from smallest to largest. He wasn't able to fully remember how to do that, so I'll be revisiting this area for next time. Finally, I assigned him a two page homework sheet that involves adding/subtracting fractions.
