In our session today, the student and I prepared for her upcoming English research paper. We discussed writing and research techniques, and I introduced her to online databases as an available resource base. We talked about the process of quote selection and outlining, and also did some research together on her topic, the Turing Test. For our next session, the student is going to arrange her selected quotes into an outline for review so that we can then begin constructing the actual paper together.

In addition, we also worked on several problems related to her lab, where she heated up a compound on a crucible and determined mass loss of products. As we continued to work through the problems, she appeared to understand the concepts to a greater degree, but this will require more practice.

I also skimmed over the outline he created for his Religion essay, and it looked good. He had the thesis and body paragraphs due for his Religion essay later that Wednesday night.
