Tutoring review by Matthew in Lisle, IL
We covered concepts relating to special relativity and heat transfer between objects. The student struggled at first with knowing how and when to use the various equations he was given for time dilation, length contractions, and Lorentz coordinate transformations. I helped him to make sense of these interrelated ideas as he worked through homework problems. When it came to heat transfer, I showed him how to apply the concept of equilibrium to problem solving. He struggled with setting up the problems at first, but after we discussed a few homework problems, he was able to do a much better job.

Tutoring review by Marco in Lisle, IL
We covered derivatives of special functions such as e^x, a^x, ln(x), and log(x). We did a fun practice problem of finding the derivative of e^(x^x). We worked on a few derivative problems involving the special functions. We then shifted gears working on first and second derivative tests and what the critical points/inflection points mean. Overall, it was a great session. The student is going to get a hold of his quiz potentially so we can go over it in a future session.
