Tutoring review by Bethany in Lindon, UT
We spent the session going over the problems the student missed and practicing more elapsed time problems. I helped her learn a new strategy to use when solving these types of problems.

Tutoring review by Jeremy in Lindon, UT
Today we covered a series of subject: Math, Science, and spelling. In Math, the student worked on an assignment which required him to complete math problems involving estimating the addition/subtraction of decimals (money) & whole number problems. He demonstrated a great amount of confidence in each problem as he provided correct answers for each problem he faced. I read him some numbers to write down, and he double checked what he wrote by confirming the page I was reading from. It was great to see him confirming his recorded work. In science, the student was asked to match up definitions of cardiac, smooth, and skeletal muscle. In addition, he was asked to label cartoon pictures of each of these muscle categories as well. The student did a good job with the definitions. I spent some time on the definitions, coming up with ways to help him remember the definitions, cardiac-heart and skeletal-bones. Finally, he did an assignment which involved his spelling words. He completed the assignment correctly. The student's reading was great during today's session. He was a pleasure to work with!

Tutoring review by Lynn in Lindon, UT
The student completed her homework on solving algebraic equations and we went over the questions she got wrong in her previous homework. We also went over solving word problems involving algebraic equations. She seemed to understand everything pretty well and has improved a lot in solving algebraic equations. I gave her some practice problems.

Tutoring review by Caroline in Lindon, UT
The student and I continued to work on her multiplication tables with games, and we dove a bit into division too. After a few rounds she intuited that division was simply the opposite of multiplication and began using a few of the tools she had used for multiplication for division as well. Already in only three sessions we've worked on multiplication, she's made noticeable progress in recall and her ability to solve problems she's not sure about, and tackles the games with excitement. Although it was difficult for her to switch from math to reading and she drew out the process as much as she could, she eventually made it to her book and we spent the rest of the time reading for fun.

Tutoring review by Kameco in Lindon, UT
We reviewed returned work from the student's teacher. We then went through multiplication flashcards covering the facts from zero to three. We focused on the three facts, as that is where he started to struggle. I left the cards for him to practice in between sessions.
