The student and I met today and we reviewed the food vocabulary words that he knows.  I used the latest grocery advertisement to have him practice prices.  After this, we practiced using the verbs ir, estar, poder, and tener.  We spent a great deal of time on the verb poder (to be able to) because there are a number of grocery store phrases associated with this verb.

Tutoring review by Daniel in Kirkwood, MO
The main topic was limits, but we covered continuity and theorems. We discussed and worked 30 practice problems, going over various tools to use such as the squeeze theorem and tips for simplifying solutions. The student showed good progress as he built his comprehension up. Drawing and comprehending graphs was a large part of the session, as it was not a strong suite for the student in prior math classes, but he grew in his understanding in this area. All he needs now is to practice.

We worked on dividing decimal numbers and how to calculate the volume of a box. We reviewed the student's essay and corrected any spelling errors that we saw. I asked the student to rewrite each word that he misspelled. The idea is to achieve better handwriting and spelling. The student was also asked to further develop the body paragraphs in his essay.

The student had not completed her last practice test, so we spent our session completing practice exercises in the SAT book. She did extremely well on the vocabulary, missing only the four most difficult questions. We discussed the meanings of those words before completing a practice section in math. She excelled on this session, missing only a couple of questions. We finished with practice on reading.
