Tutoring review by Kaitlyn in Inola, OK
We went over synthetic division. We used synthetic substitution to evaluate equations. We factored polynomials and found zeros using synthetic division. He said he understood everything, and I had him tell me how to do some of the problems to make sure he understood.

Tutoring review by Michelle in Inola, OK
The student worked on her writing for a Social Studies assignment. This included looking up the topic, reading aloud the text--working on reading words correctly--and writing a paragraph from information distilled from the text. I had brought a spelling exercise puzzler: short word/short vowel types, double consonants with -le ending, long vowel+consonant+silent e, and words ending in -ent, -ant, -ence. The goal: become familiar with spelling patterns to become a better speller. The student had a 7th grade handout which we worked through. Various problems to do with slope-intercept equation, the math related to it, and deducing same equations from graphed lines. She had a few ratio and proportion problems that we reviewed.

Today, the student showed me flashcards she made to memorize her square roots and cube roots! And she proved she has been using them as well by getting them all correct when I drilled her. We then worked on a little unit analysis, dividing by a fraction, and multiplying and dividing decimals. The student caught on to these concepts quickly and did very well!

Tutoring review by Jacob in Inola, OK
As this session took place just before the student's first real ACT, we went over some final test taking strategies. I assigned him a full practice exam to do before his test date. As I believe is the case for most first-time exam takers, the exam itself will give him a clearer picture of the test environment and will prepare him well for the next exam.

Tutoring review by Kristof-Pierre in Inola, OK
The student was able to draw on a lot of the things we did yesterday, and apply it to what she has moved on to. She had a little trouble with parts of the problems, such as identifying where the angle should be imagined from, but on a whole she was able to set the problem up and solve it on her own. We will continue to work on this.
