Hawaii Tutoring FAQ

How much does Varsity Tutors cost for students in Hawaii?

The amount you pay for working with a tutor for students in Hawaii is determined by a variety of factors. One such factor is the complexity of study required.

a parent of someone studying grade school math, for instance, may be quoted one price, while a student studying college Algebra could be quoted another. The number of sessions required also plays a significant part in calculating your expense. Those who pay for more sessions, like a parent seeking support for her student in science over the course of a semester, could see a lower overall cost per session than someone who, for instance, only wants a few study sessions before taking the GMAT. Our Educational Directors can provide additional insight on this subject.

Which tutoring subjects does Varsity Tutors offer for students in Hawaii?

The range of subjects that can be explored through tutoring for students in Hawaii is broad and deep. From an introduction to the basics of chemistry to advanced studies in musical composition, the possibilities are nearly endless.

What's more is that instruction is available at nearly all stages of comprehension in this array of fields, meaning there's an option for almost everyone. You don't need to be seeking a lesson or two to satisfy academic needs to benefit from tutoring, though. Hawaiian tutors can also provide support to professionals pursuing certifications for holding roles like that of a CPA or CFA. They can bolster hobbyists, too, providing instructions in areas of interest well outside of a career path.

Why choose Varsity Tutors for tutoring in Hawaii?

Tutoring for students in Hawaii gives you the ability to work with a teacher whose sole focus is you. Instead of competing for attention in the classroom, you get 1-on-1 time with someone who not only knows the material but knows where you stand with it.

They have the luxury of getting to know your weaknesses and strengths before crafting a lesson plan that specifically addresses your needs, like plotting out a strategy for test prep ahead of the LSAT. Because you are the only student in that equation, the learning plan can be flexible. If you're having a tougher time with poetic devices than initially expected, for instance, your tutor can shift the lesson plans around to make sure you fully understand the concepts before moving on to something like 19th-century British poetry.

If you're ready to learn more about how working with a tutor for students in Hawaii with real skill could benefit you, our Educational Directors are standing by. They will spend time speaking with you about your goals and concerns before making recommendations that fall within your budget and can work with your schedule. From there, you'll be able to engage with your tutor using a secure web platform.

There's no excuse for a delay. Reach out online to Varsity Tutors today to get connected with a tutor for students in Hawaii soon!

Tutoring review by Lyndsey in Hawaii
In this session, we worked on the student's final review and covered questions on ambiguous triangles, evaluating trigonometric functions without a calculator, and polynomials. She learned polynomials some time ago, so she needs a little refresher on the topic. I sent an email with some notes on polynomials. Good luck on your test!

Tutoring review by Sonia in Hawaii
We went over the topics for the student's Physics and Algebra courses. We looked ahead to what she would be covering in those courses after the holiday. She has brought both class grades up and is now consistently making high B's. One thing we discussed is her tendency to get nervous about lengthy word problems, even when she understands the math or physics necessary to answer the problems. We discussed strategies to keep calm and break the problems down into the necessary smaller pieces and how to think critically.

Tutoring review by Jason in Hawaii
The student has a chemistry test tomorrow, so we went over the concepts of calculating mass percent, naming compounds, determining chemical formula, balancing chemical equation, calculating limiting and excess reagent, and so on. She did really well on the practice questions related to these concepts.

Tutoring review by Jennifer in Hawaii
The student was working on a revision packet this week. Her greatest area of need was considering the upper and lower bounds of a number. Whole numbers were not a challenge, but considering decimals was. She would evaluate the upper bound of a number such as 5.5 correctly (5.55), but she would forget to include the entire lower bound, answering 5.50 or 5.49. This was remedied by considering the smallest number that would still round to 5.5. More practice may be required to cement the knowledge. We also worked on advanced sequences that required writing the terms as multiples of n. Once she saw that the terms can be considered as the same type, she was able to apply the theme to novel problems.

Tutoring review by Dina in Hawaii
Today, we spent our session working Physics vector problems and finding resultant vectors and applying those skills to real world problems. The student was struggling with her diagrams, so I showed her the mathematical method to solve those problems. We also worked on free body diagrams.

Tutoring review by Patrick in Hawaii
We covered division properties and division. She was quick to pick up on division properties (i.e. half of hundreds using 5 as half of ten in new core algorithm). She was positive and working hard. The rest of her homework was left for practice Her test score went up to a C+ (78), with each question worth over two points up from a high D earlier. No concerns.
