Tutoring review by Eunki in Gladstone, OR
We continued to cover rational expressions except we focused on solving rational equations. There was some trouble with the details of arithmetic and how to fit factoring and simplification into the broad picture, but he showed significant improvement during the session as I explained the reasoning behind why and how certain operations are performed.

We went through the student's homework first. It was about solving quadratic equations by completing squares. I explained to her how she has to do them. She understood them, and she was able to solve them by herself. Then we went through several questions on covalent bonds and drawing their structures. I explained the concept and asked her to draw some of them for me. She is doing well.

Tutoring review by Elise in Gladstone, OR
Today the student and I went over her chapter review guide and studied for her test! It consisted of working with word problems, even and odd functions, system of equations, and a few topics she's had before. She's ready! She's been doing better on her quizzes and tests and she's more patient with her work now and thinks the problems through. As we did problems during the session, I gave her some problems to work on the next day/ the day before her test.

Tutoring review by Leah in Gladstone, OR
The student's session today was largely spent preparing for her history test that is scheduled for tomorrow. As written in her planner, she and I read through chapter 8 and I prompted her with comprehension questions on the material presented. She seems prepared for her test and I am confident that she will do well tomorrow. As asked, I provided homework for her. She was given a fiction story to read along with written answer comprehension questions which I will check upon my arrival next Tuesday.
