Eatontown Tutoring FAQ

Eatontown is a borough in New Jersey that was named after an early settler who built a mill in the area around 1670. The United States Army's Fort Monmouth was operated in Eatontown between the years 1917 and 2011, when it was closed down. The fort also held the United States Military Academy Preparatory School at the time of its closing.

Eatontown does not have its own school system. Instead, High School students attend the Monmouth Regional High School in nearby Tinton Falls, which is a part of the Monmouth Regional High School District. To help you work towards success in your courses, expert online or in-home private tutoring from tutors in Eatontown is offered for both general class instruction and test prep. Eatontown tutors offer online and in-person tutoring sessions to give you the test prep and instruction you need to try to do well on your big exam. Several excellent colleges are nearby, including Monmouth University in West Long Branch and Georgian Court University in Lakewood. If you and your family are ready to have some fun, be sure to check out some of the excellent recreational activities in Eatontown. The local theme park, Fun Time America, is geared towards younger kids, but is an excellent stop for people of all ages on a rainy afternoon. Three rides are available, in addition to a large rock-climbing wall. Laser tag is a favorite activity there, and the bounce houses will make the kids smile. Your family will have fun running into each other on the bumper cars, and the arcade games are plentiful. Another favorite is Monster Mini Golf. This indoor golf course is spooky themed and completely dark, with a light up course that makes it light enough to play. The course is relatively difficult to challenge you, and the kids will love spending some time on the different arcade games. Sumpy's Hatchet House will give you a safety lesson before teaching you the art of hatchet throwing. Sumpy's Hatchet House also has a party room, allowing you to host birthday parties or celebrate other special occasions. This session comes at a time when the student has big exams coming up, particularly in Spanish, a subject she's struggling with. Working for long periods of time with me, she's getting used to maintain the right mindset. I expected to get and 85 and she ended up getting 82.

I checked last week's homework assignment I left the student, which was one digit divisor division. It was only six problems, and she got all of them correct, which was very good and shows she has an understanding of the concept. We then started our new concept on divisibility. I gave her two worksheets detailing the rules for this concept for the numbers 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10. I then went over each one, giving her examples of each one and asking her questions along the way. After we went through all of this, she had a question about one of the math problems on her homework which I helped her with. I left her with a sheet on divisibility.

Tutoring review by Angela in Eatontown, NJ
We started by warming up with addition flashcards. I had the student say the whole problem aloud with the answer. I reminded him to start with the larger number then add the smaller number to it. He is now doing this on his own. Next we completed one homework worksheet involving Language Arts and filling in a Venn diagram. I gave him a few word problems to work on, and had him draw a picture to go with each one. He did well. We worked on a worksheet that I prepared which included word problems, adding two digit numbers, fill in the blanks, and skip counting aloud by 2's, 3's, 4,'s and 5's. He did well and I am reviewing techniques he can use in Math.

Tutoring review by Jennifer in Eatontown, NJ
We reviewed the student's sine and cosine graphing homework and quarter exam review sheet, working primarily on function transformation questions and the sinusoidal word problem. He had some trouble understanding the origin of sine and cosine graphs. We worked through a number of problems together, and he was able to repeat the necessary steps to find solutions. I instructed him to re-do a number of sine/cosine graphs for practice after our session. His last tests in pre-calc and biology were both As (yay!).
