Tutoring review by David in Crafton, PA
The student reported that he got his grade for the quiz last Thursday and it was a 93. I had him finish the one division and the one multiplication problem I left him with last week. I gave him problems on all operations with fractions. He made a small error on an addition problem, a subtraction problem and a division problem. They both had good attitudes today towards what we went over.

Tutoring review by Manuel in Crafton, PA
Today we went back to reference angles. Her difficulties understanding the material arose from not being able to identify the significance of the coordinate values of a point on the unit circle. However, by the end of the session she seemed she had remembered the unit- circle and how to manipulate reference angles.

The student and I worked on preparing her for her geometry quiz, covering the area of circles and other geometric shapes. I created a study guide with practice problems that she could use to study. By the end of the session, she felt confident with how to approach these problems and felt ready to take the quiz.

Today, the student and I worked on graphing functions while looking for points of discontinuity, asymptotes, and holes. We then continued onto multiplying and dividing polynomials, finishing up with adding functions. Each problem required multiple answers and she did a great job! She even wanted to continue on after our scheduled end time. She is now done with 9/21 pages of make-up work.

Tutoring review by Matjaz in Crafton, PA
Today we went ahead of the lessons and studied functions, in graph, table, and mapping forms. We investigated relations, domains, ranges, and basics of functions. The students are well prepared in this topic because we previously had lessons on relations and functions. They understand the difference between relations and functions very well and are confident about their knowledge. We have solved several word problems relating to describing the actual behavior when the graph of the distance vs time was given, for example. They did very well on last week's test in school.

Tutoring review by Paul in Crafton, PA
I worked with the student at his home from 7:30 to 9:00 pm. For the first 45 minutes of our session, we reviewed work from his Journalism class. He showed me two rough drafts with comments from his teacher. I provided more detailed explanations of his teacher's comments and made suggestions for improvement; I provided notes of my suggestions on paper. He stated that he had recently completed a test in his World Regions class. He showed me several PowerPoints from his teacher, and I explained how he could sort this information onto index cards as a way to study for this class. We also reviewed one of his Biology assignments. He showed me a study tool that he had created in class. I made a suggestion of using this regularly and/or transferring the information onto index cards to use as study aids. He displayed a very positive attitude, and I enjoyed working with him!
