The fort, built in 1759, still stands as a monument to the nation's time of war. The fort guarded the passageways between the Great Lakes and Albany, as well as the Oneida River. The other historic structure on the lot is the Oliver Stevens Blockhouse. This log home was built as a replica of the town's first home. The original home's owners were settlers that arrived on the Mayflower II. The house is now a converted museum with exhibits that illustrate the way daily life would have been lived when the original home was constructed. According to the way the home was first used, the upstairs is modeled after an everyday home, and the first floor is a trading post. Displays within the museum show the way the original family lived. There are also several depictions of Fort Brewerton and how it was run.

Tutoring review by Jacob in Central Square, NY
The student and I practiced factoring high degree polynomials as well as graphing these factored polynomials using the concept of multiplicities. We were able to create a clear set of steps to follow whenever factoring these high degree polynomials, and the student is confident that she can factor any equation by following the steps. I left her with a couple of conceptual fill-in-the-blank questions to do on her own for our next session. She has a test coming up next Wednesday, so we will use the next session to prepare.

Today we learned about logarithms and exponents. I stated that exponents and logarithms are opposites. The student was eager to learn the material. I told her to memorize bases of 2 to 9 to certain powers. We practiced expanding logarithms and solving answers to certain logarithms such as finding the exponent of log base 3 of 9.

Tutoring review by Samuel in Central Square, NY
First we talked about exponents and the functions. We picked points and drew the graphs associated with the functions. We then move to chemistry and practiced balancing ionic equations and net ionic equations. Overall, we went through the session very quickly. The student only needed me to do 1 example of each section and he did the rest of the questions by himself. He has showed a huge improvement and definitely learns from his mistakes. Great job today.

Tutoring review by Erika in Central Square, NY
We reviewed strategies for must be true and main point questions. Then we did practice problems for both of those question types. For next time, the student will complete the practice problems for both of those sections in the logical reasoning bible. She'll send me questions that she had trouble with before the next session.
