Tutoring review by Lyra in Bernalillo, NM
Today the student and I focused almost exclusively on reviewing her algebra homework, since she is doing so well in Chemistry and didn't have any homework there. We discussed the rational roots theorem, imaginary roots, and how to use the principle of conjugate roots, RRT, and synthetic division in synchrony to work on polynomials; both going from one or two given zeros to a complete function, or going from a function down to its linear factorization. She was attentive and successful as always, and we even worked ahead a little, priming her on direct and inverse variations. Excellent session today! She did a great job of remembering what "multiplicities" means in reference to polynomial zeros.

Great job, and good luck!

Tutoring review by Kevin in Bernalillo, NM
We went over a review for the final exam. We covered mainly circle geometry. The student struggled with remembering equations so I had her write them all down on one sheet of paper. I have seen a vast improvement over the last three days. I am confident that the student is ready for the exam.

Tutoring review by Miranda in Bernalillo, NM
The student had a homework on inverse relationships due tomorrow, so we reviewed it and went through them. She can definitely do those problems now. We also reviewed more on factoring, and I've asked her to review some examples in the book on her own.

Tutoring review by Jonathan in Bernalillo, NM
The student and I began our last session by covering the material from Chapter 11, rational expressions. This was the second most recent chapter that he had taken a test for and the material was relatively fresh in his memory. I emphasized the importance of factoring the polynomials in each of these problems in order to simplify them. After this brief review, he spent the remaining hour running through an intensive drill session of problems. I assigned him a series of questions, including all word problems, from the review sections at the end of each chapter beginning with chapter 8. We were able to make our way all the way through to the end of chapter 10, covering all of the material to be covered on his two part final. I concluded our session by discussing his overall strengths and areas in need of improvement. He is bright and quick to pick up material, but he must slow down and practice more in order to become more consistent.
