Jacy While studying for my masters degree in mathematical sciences, I taught my own elementary statistics course. I was also an assistant teacher for calculus, college algebra, and various other college-level math courses. I love math, but I also realize that not every student feels the same way I do. My goal as a teacher is to make learning math and statistics as painless as possible!

Luchette ...they made through out the school year. The most memorable moment as a teacher, was everyday. Everyday during my teaching career was fun and exciting and educational all at the same time. One of my favorite things about teaching is the hidden fun. There are so many opportunities to make learning fun and exciting. Tiffany ...International Certificate of Education (AICE). As a former AP/Dual Enrollment student and college graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in History, I am an excellent source for writing and editing papers. But do not let my degree fool you… My favorite subject to tutor is math. Math can overwhelm students because many math problems can be solved in multiple ways. I would start by encouraging students to use their intuition to solve a problem, assisting...

Melissa I have been a classroom teacher for over 10 years, mainly in secondary classrooms. However, I have experience teaching and tutoring students from ages pre-school to adult. I love seeing the "light bulb" go on for a student when they discover a new concept or read a new piece of literature. ... My personal teaching philosophy is that all students can learn at high levels.... In a first session, I think it is important for the student and tutor to get to know each other. A personal connection goes a long way in promoting academic success.

Paola I believe in teaching made fun - not boring and rhetorical. We all learn differently, therefore I don't limit my teaching to a single approach. Depending on the learner, I use fun and different techniques. I capture my students' interest with drawings, pictures, stories and fun activities. These activities combined with other core subjects make the lessons more fun and effective.... I believe in making learning a fun experience. A lot of us are visual learners. Depending on the age group, I like to combine art, crafts, games, and stories when I teach. When teaching to an older group, I introduce culture and historical fun facts about other countries. We all know that a lot of students see school as boring and dread the thought of going in every day. My approach to the student is, first of all, to inspire and encourage him/her to believe in themselves. Believe that they are capable and well able to accomplish almost anything if they try a little harder. The student must believe and understand the importance of good academic standards. That there is much more to school than just having good grades, and they can also culture good academic patterns. This will benefit them now and in their future success in life.
