Atlantic City is mostly known as being a resort city on the Atlantic coast of New Jersey. It claims a diverse population of 39,306 citizens. The Atlantic City School District educates just over 7,000 students in its 11 schools.

From time to time, a student could use some additional academic support outside of the classroom. Maybe a student is having a hard time keeping up in a particular course or has embraced a subject and wants to move faster. Whether it’s elementary math, high school physics, or college literary analysis, a tutor can help. Varsity Tutors excels at connecting students with accomplished Atlantic City tutors.

One area students can improve through tutoring is how they prepare for tests. Review the chart below to see how well the busiest schools in Atlantic City are performing on state assessment exams.

Atlantic City Test Scores

Beginning in third grade, area students take the NJ ASK (New Jersey Assessment of Skills and Knowledge), used to determine their skill levels in language arts literacy, science, and math. Atlantic City tutors can help them prepare, and also assist high school students studying for the PARCC exams, which demonstrate their proficiency in English language arts, math, science, and social studies. If you have a college-bound high school student, you can help them reach for their goal PSAT, SAT, or ACT scores with the help of Atlantic City tutoring. Tutors can also help students prepare for advanced tests like the Series 7, CPA, LSAT, or GRE.

Atlantic City tutors assist with a lot more than test prep too. From basic math skills to Spanish, or from US history to advanced calculus, tutors who specialize in specific subjects can help you or your student better understand course material. When a student is facing struggles in a subject, a tutor can work with them in a one-on-one setting to get caught up.

Today we reviewed multiplying 2 and 3 digit numbers, practiced dividing 2 and 3 digit numbers, and practiced the multiples of 4. The student practiced adding, subtracting, dividing, and multiplying decimals. I also introduced the skill of adding more zeros to a division problem involving a remainder. I introduced exponents. We practiced converting fractions to decimals and rounding decimals to the nearest tenth, hundredth, and whole number. We practiced adding fractions with like denominators. We reviewed greatest common factor and least common multiple to prepare to add fractions with unlike denominators. The student mentioned he was having some difficulty with finding the area and perimeter of a triangle. When we practiced a few problems he seemed to understand it better.
