Tutoring review by Bernadette in Wood Dale, IL
The student and I worked on reviewing her math skills today. In her math class, they began a discussion with quadratic equations. The student did well with this concept because she has memorized the formula and understood what numbers went into what place when solving the problem. After completing this concept, we moved onto linear functions in algebra. The student did well with this concept. We reviewed three very long story problems with these type of equations. There were many steps and questions to be answered with this activity. The student did well with this activity by following the steps to be completed in what order. At the end of this activity, we reviewed the problems with solving for area of a rectangle. The student's math skills are improving as she is learning to be more patient with solving multi-step problems.

Tutoring review by Allison in Wood Dale, IL
Today the student did her book homework, as well as a special project worksheet. Her book homework consisted of solving for a variable and then checking the answer. She is almost seamless with this. She does it without much hesitation. She understands the material fairly well. By the time we got to her math project worksheet, she seemed to understand the project pretty well. I did have to pull her along in a couple of the steps, but overall she did well. Congrats on the test score in the 80s! That is great.
