Tutoring review by Marcella in Spokane County, WA
This lesson continued on the concept of finding areas of geometric figures. These problems are step-intensive! I advised the student to go back over her assignment and work the problems one by one again until she felt comfortable with the subject matter.

Tutoring review by Tejas in Spokane County, WA
As part of her review for her upcoming state assessment exam, we went over core topics for probability and statistics which included review and practice of mean, median, mode, standard deviation, combinations, and permutations. The student struggled a bit with standard deviation so I will be assigning her supplementary videos to watch and practice problems to do. We will round out her probability and statistics review tomorrow and then focus on practicing for her exam on Wednesday by doing practice problems from old exams.

Tutoring review by Jeremiah in Spokane County, WA
I helped the student with her vocabulary and math today. For vocabulary, we went over a list of ten words. I went over their pronunciations and definitions, had her study them, and then quizzed her on their meanings. I also had her use them in sentences. In math we worked on exponents and proportions. She exhibited a good attitude today and did a great job.

Tutoring review by Lauren in Spokane County, WA
The student and I focused mainly on her spelling today. She had to alphabetize her list, so there was a fair amount of singing today ("A B C D E F G..."). We worked on spelling the words by the rule being practiced instead of copying everything. We also talked about what each word meant. Again, great attitude! She did very well!!

Tutoring review by Erin in Spokane County, WA
We reviewed material for a test the student had the next day. Most of our time was spent going over proofs involving parallel lines cut by a transverse, but we also used the theorems to solve for variables used in equations representing different angles' measurements. When going over proofs I recommended she look at the picture as a whole and decide which theorem she wanted to use to prove that the two lines were parallel as it would help her determine which angles she needed to focus on finding information on, and what she needed to prove (whether the angles are congruent or supplementary) which would help guide her step by step through the proof. She seemed to have everything but proofs mastered, and we went through enough proofs that she was figuring them out with minimal prompting from me. Hopefully this means her test will go well tomorrow!
