Tutoring review by Matjaz in South Weber, UT
We reviewed limits of the type sin x / x and cosx -1 /x as a refresher and to help perform better on the next week's test. We also discussed domains of functions, and the basic definition of a derivative as a limit. Then we ended up reviewing calculating slopes of the tangents to some selected polynomial curves. The student has gained confidence and skill in calculating limits of trig functions. Strategies she mastered include variable substitution to bring function to a form sinx/x, then multiplication and division of numerator and denominator by a same factor to bring to a form sinx./x as well as formulas to bring cosx and cos^2x to the form of sin^2x. The student can do extra practice on her own, there are plenty of exercises left in her textbook.

We went over the first set of fifth grade math curriculum - write and interpret numerical expression and analyze patterns and relationships. The student just needs to be faster with her time tables. She did very well today. I only had to show her one example of each concept and she was able to do several problems on each concept on her own. I showed her how to determine prime factorization and graphing points on a graph.

Tutoring review by Saberi in South Weber, UT
We started our lesson by going over the practice problems I left him with last time. These questions tested the 5 rules of parallel lines and he was able to answer each one correctly. He was able to solve for the variables correctly at a good pace. We ended our session tonight with going over the material he just got introduced to in class - the point slope formula.

Tutoring review by Sahjar in South Weber, UT
Today the student just focused on some math homework that she had due tomorrow. I helped her with division and unit measurements. She had a positive attitude towards what she had to cover. The only extra practice I left her with today was to watch TV in Spanish and to practice Spanish. She said she did well in her classes and her homework. She showed me some grades she had improved on.
