The student and I went over his Chapter 12 review material, and I prepared a test for him to take when I first arrived. He did well on the test. I was able to observe and help the student with good test taking habits, such as writing formulas/notes on the top of his test as he received it, rather than relying on memory for every problem. Everything went well, and we continued to go over similar review materials. I made flashcards with all the volume/area formulas for the student and quizzed him on them until he was able to recite them as soon as he saw them. I left him with the notecards to practice with 1-2 times per day until his test, so that the material will really sink in. The session was overall a great success.

The student and I had our final session before Saturday's ACT. We reviewed all subject tests, and, perhaps more importantly, wrapped up by talking about his game plan moving forward. I encouraged him to review a bit more this week, including the math formulas he should have memorized and the various strategies and techniques we have discussed the past four weeks or so. I encouraged him to be as rested and alert as possible and to remain actively aware of time management. It has been nice working with him. I wish him all the best.

We spent the session reviewing old practice assignments. We focused on graphing linear and quadratic equations, finding slope and writing equations for lines. She needed some assistance with slope, but otherwise was able to complete most of them with little assistance.

We began the session by reviewing math information the student learned during the week. This included adding and subtracting large numbers and multiplying large numbers. We moved on to reading comprehension and read a few samples, answering a few questions about the sample afterward. The student has a great aptitude for understanding what she is reading and enjoys learning new information. The readings were focused on ecology.
