The student and I went over his last test and made corrections. His teacher allows you to turn in a correction sheet for credit, so we made that. After the correction sheet, we did a few practice problems to work with the concepts for his next test on identifying functions, their domains and ranges, and graphing them. As I said last session, his math is very strong. The vast majority of his issues will be resolved with being neat and careful while working.

The student and I reviewed circumference, area, radius, and diameter as well as transverse lines and angles by making flashcards. She still mixes up alternate exterior/ interior angles occasionally but with more practice with the cards, she should be fine.

We covered math topics and some vocabulary/ reading comprehension. I showed the student how, by reading the questions, you can be better prepared for the passage, and know what words to look for. Additionally, we worked on solving pairs of equations by graphing, substitution, and elimination. She needs to work more slowly, write more neatly, and use more paper while working. We will meet again in the new year.

We reviewed test taking strategies and practiced the various types of questions. We finished by working on the essay section. The student submitted to essays for editing and comments. Both were very good and required minimal corrections.

We worked on covering the current chapter which focused again on graphing functions in the form of f(x)=a*b^x. We also covered how to translate the functions. We finished by going over the future value equation.
