Norman Tutoring FAQ

How much does Varsity Tutors cost for students in Norman?

The cost of tutoring for students in Norman will depend on a few factors such as the level of tutoring you will need and the number of sessions you will have. A student at the University of Oklahoma who is taking an upper-level creative writing course might pay a different rate than the parents of an elementary school student who is struggling to understand basic math.

A student at Southmoore High School in Oklahoma who needs ongoing tutoring over several months to make it through a difficult math or science course might also pay a lower rate per tutoring session than someone who only needs a few study sessions to prepare for the GMAT or the MCAT. Tutoring review by Wade in Norman, OK
During this session, we covered some basic theorems including bisectors, and angle theorems. I gave him a particularly complex problem to demonstrate several properties of these theorems and helped him to understand how they all combine into a proof.

This week, we studied trig functions SIN, COS, and TAN. We also did some online work for the student's physics. What we are doing seems to be helping her a lot. She is catching on to trig quickly; however, basic math is still causing her problems. I plan to create short quizzes that test her ability to simply manipulate equations to find the answers. She seems to like trig more, where we are solving for side measurements typically. I taught her Soh Cah Toa.

Tutoring review by Nancy in Norman, OK
I had the student make a time management schedule for his school semester. I asked him to read one of his history writing assignments. We went through the document sentence by sentence. I pointed out grammar, text irregularities, and syntax errors. After reviewing the session, we agreed that the student needs to have weekly tutoring sessions to help him with turning in assignments.

Tutoring review by Jerry in Norman, OK
In this session we worked on separable differential equations and then moved onto the integration by partial fractions. The student improved on the integration techniques, but needed some review on algebra: exponents and logarithms, along with getting partial fractions. I sent him the links that will help him review. He is doing fine on the integrating functions.

Tutoring review by Manuel in Norman, OK
My first session with the student was up and down. Initially there was some disconnect as I tried to figure out her notes and equations she was supposed to know for this assignment. The topic she was working on involved many tricky parts, which requires a very thorough understanding of the thermodynamics variables. She is brilliant enough to understand concepts after one explanation so I'm very encouraged by her ability to progress. What we need to work in the future is to build better communication during sessions and devise a plan of action for her exams.

Tutoring review by Dylan in Norman, OK
The student and I did a listening exercise-intensive day, reading an interview out loud to see what he understood. We then watched a video on YouTube of the same speaker, to keep with the same speech pattern. We listened to sections various times to hone in on the expressions used and get used to hearing French at a normal rate.
