Tutoring review by Beth in Newcastle, WA
During this session we worked on multiplying 3 or 4 digits numbers. Examples 453 x321 hardest problems being 3245 x 543. Student still struggles, at times, with knowing steps of multiplication problem. We also worked on comprehension in the chapter book we have been reading together. Today I read a section at a time and had her summarize what she thought was the main idea of that session. I have noticed the student does not have a lot of background knowledge on certain vocabulary. I am not sure if it is based on the type of book we are reading or just in general. I have been looking up images on my phone to help describe what certain things are. This will help clarify what certain things are in the book. Student's homework was to read with parent and summarize page by page and to do three math problems.

We then discussed the ozone layer, greenhouse gases, and how carbon moves through various phases. We worked mostly from her textbook but also used several educational YouTube videos as an additional reference.
