We covered extra problems from the student's math workbook. We reviewed dot plots, mean/median/mode/range, least common multiples, greatest common factors, and multiplying/dividing/adding/subtracting decimals. We also completed his reading homework, finishing the reading log he had already started.

Tutoring review by Mythilee in Milton, GA
Today, we covered concepts that would be covered on her exam the next day, including finding the area of rectangles, squares, parallelograms, and trapezoids. In addition, we covered how to tell which shape has what name and how to identify them using angles. She did very well and I believe is very ready for her next exam. We also reviewed concepts that were taught in the beginning of the semester (factoring, GCF, LCD) so she can be ready for her final exam coming up in a couple of weeks.

Tutoring review by Kendra in Milton, GA
During today's session, I helped the student work through a semester review of her math coursework in preparation for her final. She had a list of review problems from several chapters, so we found those sections in her textbook and spent a few minutes briefly reviewing each concept before attempting the associated problems. We covered such topics as polynomial long division, graphing square root functions, graphing and solving exponential decay functions, finding horizontal and vertical asymptotes, and finding domains of composite functions. She sometimes did not recall all the skills for completing problems, especially in earlier sections, but she quickly caught on when we reviewed the lesson in the book and I demonstrated step-by-step how to work through the problems. She and I plan to meet again soon, before her math final next week, and will complete her math review during that session.

Tutoring review by Alexia in Milton, GA
During this session, the student and I focused primarily on converting fractions, percents, and decimals. We also worked on extra problems relating to calculating percentages. Given the frenetic pace of her class, she is doing well. It takes her a moment to process information, but once she has taken it all in, she can usually figure things out.
