Tutoring review by Luke in Lighthouse Point, FL
We worked through the student's 9.4 practice as well as his unit 9 review. He was particularly confident with questions of angle size and sectional area. We discussed how to apply concepts in unusual settings, e.g., a question where four semicircles originating from the vertices of a square intersect in its center. This question involved applying the same concepts of sectional areas. Questions of translating and dilating circles were easy for him and he knew exactly what he was supposed to be doing. We then discussed conversion between radians and degrees, as well as the definition of a radian. Our final challenge involved a little trigonometry. I also reviewed the generation of some useful equations and which he was able to solve the problems.

Tutoring review by Hamid in Lighthouse Point, FL
The student's first session was very positive and productive. He jumped into a math analysis (his materials being precalculus) two weeks after the school year started so we focused on fortifying the foundation he might have missed. He is focusing now on understanding functions, domain / range and multiple variable expressions.

Tutoring review by Dylan in Lighthouse Point, FL
We worked on the student's writing homework, reading an article for the most important information. He greatly improved on his use of proper nouns; there were no unnecessary repetitions. We then read an interview in a sports magazine about a hockey player/children's book writer, and I quizzed him after he sight read the piece (and very well so). He asked to research the Mets to write a fun assignment on them. I thought this was a great opportunity. He read a couple of "Did You Know?"-style lists, copied his favorite facts, and will write a story including those facts for next week.
