The meeting with the student went extremely well. She is one of the most engaged and determined students, when it comes to math, and it is always a pleasure working with her. I went over a few things with the student. The first was making sure she could properly multiply 4-digit by 3-digit numbers. She knew how to do the multiplication, however when it came to the addition she would always miss a few numbers, which would throw her entire answer off. She didn't struggle with anything, although I did get to give her a brief introduction into variables and equations with variables. As usual, she was very receptive to this, and couldn't wait to learn more about variables. I left her with a few pages of extra practice and am looking forward to the future sessions. It was a pleasure working with the student.

The student and I worked together for our final session and she did an amazing job. I left her with a great deal of practice problems so that she could hone the skills that we developed together as well as begin to build on her 4th grade skills. The student is doing great!

This afternoon I worked primarily with the student on math (multiplying multi-digit numbers and estimating) and studied parts of speech. She and I also discussed organization techniques and strategies. She had a hard time remembering all of the steps while multiplying times a two-digit number, but luckily she knew and used a different technique that worked very well for her. She worked very hard today and seemed very excited about working together.
