Idaho Tutoring FAQ

If you've been seeking a tutor for students in Idaho, get in touch with Varsity Tutors for assistance. A private teacher can help your student at Boise Senior High School with any area of their studies, whether they're planning on taking the ACT soon and need help with the math section or could use some help honing their writing skills. Learning with a private tutor for students in Idaho isn't only for struggling students. On the contrary, any student, in any grade and of any skill level, stands to gain tremendously from collaborating with a personal instructor. For example, if you have the motivation to move ahead of what's covered in your classes at the University of Idaho, a personal tutor can introduce you to new and exciting concepts. As you will be learning with your personal instructor 1-on-1, you have the freedom to ask as many questions as you need about a topic that you find confusing or skip topics you already understand.

How much does Varsity Tutors cost for students in Idaho?

The amount it will cost to learn with a tutor for students in Idaho depends on factors such as the subjects you will be studying and the amount of assistance you need. Reviewing your biochemical engineering studies with a private tutor may incur a different cost than getting a private teacher to help your student with addition and subtraction.

Signing up for weekly sessions throughout the term may come with a lower per-lesson rate than getting your student at Renaissance High School a few ACT test prep sessions. Since so many factors can influence the cost of private instruction, feel free to talk with one of our Educational Directors to gain clarity.

Which tutoring subjects does Varsity Tutors offer for students in Idaho?

We will connect you with a private tutor regardless of which subjects you or your student needs help learning. For example, if your student needs help with basic reading and writing or high school math or science, we will link you with the right tutor for them.

If you are studying education, communications, nursing, or nearly any other subject, we will find an instructor who is an expert in that field. Furthermore, if you are preparing for the STS (Safety Trained Supervisor) or another professional certification or tests like the SAT, MCAT, or LSAT, you can also benefit from private tutoring. We will connect you with a language instructor if you want to improve your German or a music teacher if you're learning the piano.

Why choose Varsity Tutors for tutoring in Idaho?

By getting in touch with Varsity Tutors for tutoring for students in Idaho, you'll be giving yourself the opportunity to meet 1-on-1 with an expert who can provide you with the level of personalized assistance that can help you, regardless of your learning style or grade. To start the process, you'll discuss your needs with one of our Educational Directors, who will be reaching out to learn more about you and your learning goals.

Once we know more about you, we will create a customized lesson plan for you and match you with a tutor using our proprietary matching process. We'll make sure you're connected to a qualified, vetted tutor with the right expertise.

Research suggests that students who learn with private tutors tend to get better grades overall than if they were to learn by themselves without any tutoring. However, there are other benefits as well. For example, you can improve your general study skills, work on setting goals for yourself, and learn how to use test-taking strategies for the GMAT like eliminating incorrect answers first. If you are studying a language, nothing beats getting personalized assistance from a fluent speaker who can give you instant feedback and correct your mistakes as soon as you make them. Tutoring review by Elliot in Idaho
We continued preparing for the student's cumulative midterm on Thursday. He hasn't been doing well on the past couple tests, so I focused on the topics at hand, gave him some guidance in how to tackle them, and also provided him with a checklist to go over before his exam in order to get him in the right mindset. He'll do great, and I'm looking forward to hearing back about how he did.

Tutoring review by Art in Idaho
The student and I continued work in the final chapter of his Algebra text. His parent reported that his getting quite nervous about getting this course finished, and he is experiencing significant stress as a result. I did my best to reassure him that we will get through this course, and then we moved on to practicing more problems dealing with solving rational equations. By this point he has a pretty good idea as to what will be coming up on his quiz, and so we brainstormed through these anticipated problem types. We developed strategies for when to clear the denominator, when to factor, and when to add the rational functions in the process of solving. These steps should help him prepare for his quiz. We also worked through a significant amount of problems, and so he should be able to look over these notes in preparation for his quiz. No concerns.

Tutoring review by Natalie in Idaho
I gave the student some clues to letter sounds and pronunciation, and then we practiced some familiar vocabulary, that included those letter sounds. Afterwards, we practiced vocabulary from last week's subjects, concerning playing with her grandchildren. Topics included, playing with toys, and where......having dinner, what to cook and what to eat, and going shopping. For homework, I elaborated the idea of 'At the Kitchen Sink', and added the concept of being dirty after playing, and what might happen, with related vocabulary, including what may take place after that, like resting, reading a book, watching a video, et cetera. I also gave her some words from some children's songs, and where to find some YouTube videos on children's songs in Spanish. After the review of letter sounds, I noticed an improvement in her pronunciation.

Student 1 worked on learning new methods for mastering subtraction. She was engaged and showed a lot of growth. We will continue to practice subtraction and start to move forward with division and multiplication word problems. Student 2 did a great job editing her essay! She was able to read through her own work and decide what information was necessary and add details and synonyms to make her writing more interesting. We will work on a new essay next week.

Tutoring review by Kedrin in Idaho
Student A continued working with fractions today. He worked on simplifying fractions, mixed numbers and improper fractions. Student B worked on adding, subtracting, dividing, and multiplying fractions using greatest common factor and least common denominator. He did very well during today's session; he has a math quiz tomorrow. I've seen a lot of improvement with him; he got every question right on his assignment he turned in yesterday. Also, he completed a science worksheet today on hypotheses. I'm excited to see the progress of both students.

The concept covered specifically: review of multiplication tables: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 , and 10; two digit/one bottom and two top and bottom; and multiplication carrying. The student's attitude toward the material reviewed was very positive. He asked for a high five a few times. He gave himself praise for his accomplishments in this session. The strategies used in this session were illustration, repeated addition, arrays, chip model, 2-digit multiplication strategies, and carrying. He has been given math drills for extra practice. The student did very well pushing through to the next natural progression in multiplication.
