By trying to make them understand why and how the information is related to their everyday lives.... Stop and take a break! Then revisit once the student has had some time to think about the concept.

Having studied physics in college and worked in biomedical engineering, I am no stranger to technical jargon. But it is that jargon which (for me at least) makes learning more difficult than need be. Therefor, I have made it my goal to increase comprehension by eliminating the "big confusing" words that inevitably arise.

I recently graduated from UC Berkeley with an Interdisciplinary Studies degree, reflecting my interest in a wide range of academic subjects. I enjoy learning, teaching, and working with my students to craft a personalized study plan and finding ways to make schoolwork both efficient and fun.
