How can a Tulsa Spanish tutor near me help build my language skills?

Learning Spanish can offer a variety of interesting advantages in work and everyday life. You could find a career in international business that allows you to travel to Spanish-speaking countries or confidently travel on your own time to interact with native Spanish speakers. As a student in school, you could fulfill educational requirements and even have the opportunity to study abroad. Whether your reasons for learning Spanish are academic, personal, or professional, you can benefit from an extra boost in knowledge from an expert Tulsa Spanish tutor. They can help you with foundational concepts or enhance your advanced Spanish language skills.

Tulsa Spanish tutoring offers you or your student the opportunity to take part in one-on-one interactions with a personal instructor. This individual attention helps your teacher discover your personal learning needs and academic goals. By acquiring this information, your educator can develop a comprehensive lesson plan that can refresh your knowledge of concepts you've mastered while allowing you to spend more time on concepts you don't yet fully grasp. As you see progress and encounter new topics to tackle, your academic mentor can make adjustments to your lesson plan so you're always focused on becoming a stronger Spanish student. If you need to slow your pace or would like to move faster to jump ahead of your classmates, your educator can modify the lesson plan accordingly.

Tulsa Spanish tutors have a wealth of knowledge they can share about the Spanish language. If you are studying the history of Spanish in school, your private instructor can go over that information to help build your understanding. You or your student might need help with very specific elements of Spanish like gendered nouns. Your academic mentor can help you understand the difference between the masculine "o" and feminine "a" on the end of gendered nouns, and also go over exceptions to this rule. If you need assistance pluralizing words, your educator can help you in this area, as well. The personal nature of this form of instruction allows your teacher to tackle any areas that need the most learning and study time.

Another benefit of one-on-one instruction is your teacher's ability to try different instructional methodologies until one sticks. For instance, after trying a few techniques, your personal instructor could discover that you are an aural learner who absorbs information best through short lectures or in-depth discussions. If you are a visual learner, your educator could use flashcards to help you memorize vocabulary words and their meanings or improve your ability to pronounce words that possess accent marks. The interactive nature of these sessions allows your private instructor to provide continuous feedback regarding your progress and in-the-moment answers to your questions.

As you work toward fluency, your academic mentor could utilize a fantastic technique called simulated immersion to strengthen your speaking skills. This technique allows you to identify nuances in Spanish grammar so you can improve your pronunciation and the language can feel more natural to you. With this technique, you could make even more progress in your studies and feel more confident in your ability to interact with Spanish speakers.

How can I fit working with Tulsa Spanish tutors into my schedule?

Tulsa Spanish tutoring is flexible, so you don't have to worry about a busy schedule interfering with your or your student's ability to work with a personal instructor. We understand the challenge of adjusting a family's many obligations to make time for one single meeting. To accommodate your family's schedule, we work to locate an educator who is able to meet when you or your student has time.

It's good to note that tutoring is available online and in-person. If your or your student's instructional preference is to work with an academic mentor online, you will have the opportunity to interact using the Live Learning Platform. This platform features a live video chat that allows you to communicate face-to-face with your instructor. When in the midst of Spanish lessons, your educator can utilize a virtual whiteboard to teach concepts like verb conjugation. Your personal instructor can use a document editor for tasks like teaching the proper placement of written accents. If you can't remember how to pronounce a word spoken during a lesson, you can revisit recordings of your sessions to spark your memory.

If in-person Spanish instruction is your preference, we can locate a tutor who is excited about providing assistance. You can meet with your personal educator in any location you choose, including a local coffee shop, the Herman & Kate Kaiser Library, or even at your own home.

While working with a personal instructor is a fantastic way to learn Spanish, it can also be enjoyable to learn the language with other students. If you would like to study Spanish in a collaborative setting, Varsity Tutors offers engaging online courses conducted in a virtual classroom and led by a professional instructor. With multiple course sections available, you can easily find one that suits your schedule.

Spanish Tutoring review by Clarisa in Tulsa, OK
The student did exercises using ser and estar and other phrases. She did an outstanding job. We had conversations using ser in many different cases. I asked her to identify these cases. I reviewed math facts with her and numbers from 1 to 30. I introduced ser and estar used with adjectives and how the meaning changes. The student was very exact with composing her sentences, plus the explanations of ser and estar. WE were both very happy at how she understood and was able to answer all questions today.

Spanish Tutoring review by Lucianna in Tulsa, OK
In our lesson the student and I continued practicing the verb estar. In our session he was able to use it more comfortably and he showed me that he has more of an understanding about this verb. First I wanted him to complete the same exercise that we had done previously; and then we moved on to other exercises that were a little more challenging. He did a great job. He has a "go with the flow" personality, and it makes class a lot of fun. We reviewed colors, the months of the year, and the days of the week; these exercises used estar within the question so he was really able to do a review and use the material he had recently learned. He also learned some new vocabulary words like before and after, as well as some places. Overall our session was very productive and I am glad that he has learned so much thus far. He knows to continue reviewing the learned material, especially the verb estar. Once I teach him the verb ser, which also means to be, things will get a little tricky. I want to make sure his understanding of the uses of estar is solid before moving on.

Spanish Tutoring review by Lizeth in Tulsa, OK
The session was about the conditional type 1 and 2. The student did a great job with the sentences that he made himself. I started to introduce him some vocabulary that he already knows but with a different meaning, so that made him struggle, because we are checking new structures and it makes harder to understand why do we use certain words in a special way. The good thing about it is that he is going to get use to it and will learn more. He asked me to give him more exercises using the words me, te, se, nos. So I will do it for the next lesson and I am going to send him more exercises about today's class.

Spanish Tutoring review by Emmanuelle in Tulsa, OK
Today we focused on evaluating exactly the level of the two students. I could feel that they were both familiar with the language and already had some knowledge such as the colors and the numbers. With the flashcards I brought and the books they had we have started to look at different words of vocabulary to see what they already knew so we have seen the food and also some animals as well as parts of the house and the body. Since they are already very familiar with colors and numbers we have tried to associate vocabulary with the number of animals, for example with the color. I feel that the session was quite positive and that both students were able to focus very well during the lesson especially considering their young age. The challenge will be to start building sentences basic sentences to express hunger or to express cold or when someone is feeling hot such as I am hungry or I am cold to start with.

Spanish Tutoring review by Kristin in Tulsa, OK
After discussing the student's goals for learning Spanish, we assessed her knowledge of the language through a series of exercises covering grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. The student has a good foundation in beginning Spanish, with working knowledge of the present tense, the difference between ser and estar, and basic vocabulary. In future sessions, we plan to do a quick review of some basic concepts (irregular verbs in the present tense, articles, among others) and then proceed with new material. The student was left with review activities to complete in advance of the next session.

Spanish Tutoring review by Mariaa in Tulsa, OK
We did a lot of work on pronunciation and some numbers. They read a poem out loud so I could gauge where they were at with speaking and reading, and they did very well. The boys are just learning the basics of vocabulary and pronunciation so I was impressed with how they did. They have a great attitude about learning Spanish; they are excited and energetic which makes the session fun. I made them a handout to help them with pronunciation of Spanish vowel sounds and they were very excited to apply what they knew to the lesson.
