Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I went over the unit circle, how it translates to degrees, and how to derive trigonometric functions from the circle. We discussed any concerns she might have with the final coming up. She said she was mostly worried about fractional exponents, rationalizing the denominator, and working with logarithms. We did practice problems on these topics, and will continue to work on these skills in our next session."
"The student and I went over trigonometric identities, using them to simplify expressions. We covered the inverse trigonometric functions, and used the difference of squares."
"The student and I went over worksheet problems that included some exponential problems as well as some review problems on inverse functions. The exponential problems required simplification of numerator and denominator expressions and needed care not to make simple mathematical errors. The inverse function problems were a review of material from several weeks ago. Her exams start next week, so she is completing her worksheets to study for exams."
"The student and I went through her final review, and covered questions on topics like SSA triangles, half angle formula, double angle formula, and sum and difference formulas."
"The student and I went through his homework problems for Pre-calculus. We answered all the problems he had difficulty with first. We used logs, natural logs, exponents and algebra to simplify and solve equations. The student felt more confident after reviewing these concepts."
"The student and I worked on a review of a past quiz, wherein questions involving unit circles and finding trigonometric functions for given angles and quadrants were asked. The student needed some guidance in determining the quadrants and drawing of the right-angle triangle for inverse trig expressions, but quickly learned the steps and solved similar questions by himself. I left him with an assignment to memorize the values of the sine and cosine of angles between 0 - 90 degrees and 180 degrees."
