Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student had a homework assignment for Caribbean History she wanted to work on. She had to define terms like primary and secondary sources, bibliography, bias, and others that are relevant to historiography. We went through the needed reading material, and I asked her how she would phrase definitions, and then helped her if she was missing an important point. After we finished, I revised her assignment for text and grammar issues. Next, we worked on algebra. Today's material covered graphing linear functions on the x,y coordinate plane. Hopefully, she finishes up the module she's on now, and takes the quizzes for modules 2 and 3 soon. "
"Student A and I worked on some constitutional/ foundations of government content and started working on Westward Expansion, which really interested her. We'll continue preparing her for the upcoming year with more Westward Expansion next time. Student B and I worked on geography terms and identifying/ defining land formations. We'll continue with that and work on other geography content next time."
"The student and I met for our first session this evening. She walked me through her current American History class and its expectations, as well has areas where she is struggling. We then moved right into working on an online question set due next week. This gave me the opportunity to present as much information as I could about early European colonization in North America. We plan to meet again soon to finish the remainder."
"The student and I reviewed her lesson plan assignment and discussed edits that would increase clarity, ensure alignment with standards, and demonstrate awareness of course concepts. She will make the changes we discussed."
"The student and I reviewed her syllabus, class assignments, and due dates, and we discussed what she is looking to get out of the course and what help I can provide. I provided some basic tips on reading since the course requires a lot. We also reviewed a "primary and secondary" source reading that she will have a quiz on soon. We discussed what the next two weeks will look like and plan to meet tomorrow."
"The student is above the stated grade objective for completed tasks. The student and I will meet for 2 more sessions to complete the course."
