How can Trigonometry tutoring help you?

Trigonometry, a branch of mathematics, deals with the relationships between the angles and sides of triangles. This is a highly practical subject that is used often in our world, especially with measuring buildings, calculating distances between objects, and musical theory. The word trigonometry is derived from the Greek words for triangle and measure, which mean "trignon" and "metron" respectively. This is a very complex subject, with many concepts and intricacies to learn and understand. Trigonometry Tutoring review by Lucas in Round Rock, TX
Today I was able to work a long session with the student. We reviewed two problem areas from the week prior to his spring break, which included another Pythagorean theorem question along with several Venn diagram questions. He was able to correct these mistakes rather quickly. We then worked through two lessons, including a lesson "assessment" and a "quiz." He did very well with both of these, and only needed a pair of minor modifications to two problems prior to submitting to get full credit on his quizzes. I left him with one additional Pythagorean theorem question to do on his own before our next session on Thursday, and we'll be covering a test that day. Great session! I think it was very valuable to have a longer session this morning.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Jennifer in Round Rock, TX
The student completed her homework, which was a very long review of range, median and mode. She found these averages from charts, bar graphs, stem and leaf plots, and a basic list. When she completed her homework, I gave her a sheet that I wrote myself, which consisted of review questions for everything that we have done so far. The sheet had problems involving finding the area and circumference of a circle, measuring angles with a protractor, identifying outliers on a graph, and using ratios to solve problems. Her teacher gave her a packet full of questions to work on with me. We will identify the problems that she doesn't understand, and do them together.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Michael in Round Rock, TX
Today the student and I met for the full session. He is working on percents and ratios. We spent approximately an hour going over some homework and a few questions he had about the topic. For the last half hour he & I spoke about starting to go over the entry exam as he might want to go to a private high school. We spoke about his standardized test history including prior performances on the entry exam, as well as some areas that he felt needed some more work on. Next session is scheduled for next Tuesday.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Husan in Round Rock, TX
Since working with the student, he has gone from a "C" student to an "A" student. He has made remarkable growth. These will be my last two weeks with him. Today we explored his science project: make a suspension bridge from spaghetti. I gave him the task of researching examples online and making a scale drawing of his bridge. He struggles with thinking outside the box, but he catches on quickly.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Maggie in Round Rock, TX
The student and I continued to practice with word problems using trigonometric functions. She needs a lot of practice determining the what problem is asking and how to set up the scenario mathematically. These problems require her to visualize the scenario and sketch the triangles she will use to solve the problem. Since each problem is different and requires different steps, there is a lot of trial and error when it comes to the problem solving.
