Session Summaries by Trigonometry Tutors

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Darren in Cedar Park, TX
As with our last few lessons, today's session focused on completing assignments for the student's trig course. We have just one more chapter to work through before returning to calculus. We left off right at limits and the definition of the derivative so I am eager to get going with that again.

Today's session went well. It was our second session and our first not focusing on reviewing. We went through the first few sections of his trigonometry book; graphing functions, unit circle, radians, etc. He is not struggling with anything as of yet. He is to work on reviewing chapter two and I gave him practice problems on trig. No concerns for this session.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Daniel in Cedar Park, TX
The student and I focused our lesson on trig identity problems I had previously assigned. These problems were much more involved than ones he had done before, so he needed help solving the majority of the problems. I walked him through several solutions, and then let him work on the remaining problems. Once he had seen a few solutions, he was able to complete problems with little assistance.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Laura in Cedar Park, TX
We began by reviewing exponents and the conversion between radians and degrees. We completed multiple practice problems on each topic. Then we went over different ways to manipulate radicals. We covered multiplication and division and then learned to simplify them.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Vincent in Cedar Park, TX
Today, we reviewed corrections that the student had made on her previous algebra quiz. I also gave her work extra problems concerning direct variation because she had expressed uncertainty with it. She was, however, able to complete them without help. Afterwards, we covered the material she had received from her most recent class, over linear inequality functions. She had some trouble understanding how to represent certain inequalities on a graph at first, but with practice she became more confident with it.
