Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I went over some Math homework as well as some Spanish homework today. He has made considerable progress in his discipline when it comes to completing his homework. His grades show this. We are still waiting for him to receive his last writing assignment back from his teacher."
"The student and I covered lessons from his online course, focusing primarily on cross multiplication and scalar quantities in regards to maps. He and I introduced this topic several weeks ago. We refreshed the material that he is comfortable with and practiced in preparation for an upcoming exam."
"The student and I reviewed quadratic functions. We went over real world applications of quadratic functions like the time it takes for a ball to reach the ground if it travels a trajectory of a parabola. We also went over graphs of a parabola and how to graph them by finding the vertex, x-intercepts, and y-intercepts. She had a good understanding of the topic and didn't show any issues with it. We also went over the nature of roots like whether they would be rational, irrational, or imaginary numbers, and she knew how to determine that using the formula. Overall, she showed a good grasp of the concepts and did a great job."
"We are using a GED study guide to help the student prep for the GED test in February. We worked on fractions and percentages. We practiced adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions. We also practiced converting percentages to decimals and vice versa. The session went very well, and she was very engaged throughout the entire tutoring session. She asked lots of questions and was eager to learn!"
"The student is a really dedicated student and is very teachable. We studied the rules of products, exponents, and roots. We then worked through a series of problems from his study guide to prepare for a test on Friday. I created several practice problems similar to those from his study guide and coached him through each set until he could complete each type of problem on his own."
"We spent the first half of the session reviewing the student's math homework. We then reviewed chapter five since her homework was from the last section of chapter five, and I suspect she may have a chapter test in the not so distant future. We then completed quizzes on the learning tool website and made it a little more interesting by making small wagers with each question. It was a fun and relatively stress-free way to review our material!"
